Edward Sherry donated Lots 1-12 in block B and Lots 1-9 in block C. He also included Lot 9 in block D. He wished that the road be open to the public and hoped the city would use his land for "park purposes." (As seen above)
- Mar. 19, 1928 - Council discussion regarding potential closing of Lakeshore Avenue to the public. Helen Kimberly Stuart expresses concern. Committee formed to investigate the matter.
- Apr. 9, 1928 - Council passes resolution to keep the Kimberly Point purchase #1 open to the public.
- May 2, 1928 - Plans Commission recommends and Council approves placing the point property under Park jurisdiction.
- Aug. 20, 1928 - Deed to City for Edward Sherry's interest in Lakeshore Avenue including shore and riparian rights. Deed restricts use to "public park purposes". Note that although Lot 1 is included in the deed, Sherry had no interest in this property as it had previously been sold.
