- Jan. 6, 1932 - O'Leary reports there is a reasonable basis for dispute in the question of ownership. Council appoints a committee, at Stuart's request, to investigate.
- Mar. 2, 1932 - Committee reports that while the adjacent property owners concede that title to the land is with the City, there is some uncertainty about what rights the abutting property owners may have. Alderman Stuart argues, unsuccessfully, to have the matter resolved in the courts. Council chooses to file the report and to not pursue a court decision unless forced to do so.
- Sep. 16, 1932 - Stuart files with Winnebago County Circuit Court to establish title of the City to the property and to bar others from claiming any rights to it. (To date, we have not found any decision in this matter.)
- Stuart paid for twenty elm trees to be planted at the park as well as crabapple trees.
